We are excited to continue our series, "The Road to Miss Pennsylvania’s Outstanding Teen 2018," with the next contestant, Miss Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s Outstanding Teen 2018 - Britney Cheskiewicz! Continue reading to learn more about Britney and her journey towards the crown!

For those who may not be familiar with you, tell our readers a bit about yourself and your background within the pageant world.
I am your 2018 Miss Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s Outstanding Teen, Britney Cheskiewicz. My platform is Animal Safety and Adoption Awareness and I have been competing in the Miss America Organization for 3 years.

The four points of the Miss America crown represent: service, scholarship, style, and success. Which one is the most important to you and why?
I feel all points are equally important as they all represent what a titleholder of the Miss America Organization strives to embody. However if I had to choose a point that matters most, it would be “Scholarship.” This is a scholarship organization benefiting young women all across America.

During Madison Domkosky’s reign, what is one characteristic you’ve seen her bring forth as Miss Pennsylvania’s Outstanding Teen, and which do you hope to emulate if you were to win the title?
Madison’s poise has been nothing but remarkable during her year long reign, I would hope to embody that degree of poise just as she does if crowned Miss Pennsylvania’s Outstanding Teen.

What have you learned from our current Miss Pennsylvania’s Outstanding Teen that can help you be a better outstanding teen?
I have learned how to market my platform. Madison recruits ambassadors for her “Thank a Vet” campaign to allow her platform and message to reach more people and more areas. I have watched Madison do this and I will do the same with my platform, “Animal Safety and Adoption Awareness.”

Please share with our readers your platform and why you’ve chosen to advocate for it.
My platform is “Animal Safety and Adoption Awareness”, I chose this platform because I have always been very passionate about animals. I see many kids and even some adults approach animals in a very aggressive manner, making the animal feel threatened. I feel there are safety tips that should be known to help keep kids and adults safe, as well as the animals. As a dog owner, animal lover and SPCA Volunteer I am very passionate about my platform and I am beyond excited to be spreading my message across the state of Pennsylvania and the nation.

If you were to win the title of Miss Pennsylvania’s Outstanding Teen, how do you hope to better educate your generation about your platform and the importance it holds?
By partnering with the SPCA, attending elementary school and teaching students important safety tips on how to handle and approach animals.

Tell us about your talent and the decisions you made in proceeding with this talent.
I will be performing a vocal Musical Theatre song. I have been performing since age 2 and I am very passionate about musical theatre. I feel my talent for Miss Pennsylvania’s Outstanding teen not only channels my vocal skills but also my acting skills.

Having been in pageants and after winning a local title, what advice do you have for those who want to start competing in the MAO system?
Never give up, I competed in the Miss America Outstanding Teen Organization for 3 years before winning this title. Never be discouraged because hard work does pay off and it will happen.

Because of the way media and certain television networks have portrayed the lifestyle of pageantry, there is a preconceived notion of what a pageant girl is like. How do you think that being a part of the Miss America Organization you are able to break that barrier?
There is such a stigma surrounding pageants and I ultimately consider it wrong. I am a living example of how pageants can transform someone. Before competing in pageants I was a shy young girl with little to no confidence. Now I am a confident young woman doing everything I can to make a difference by embodying the 4 points of the Miss America Crown, style, service, scholarship and success.

Regardless of who wins the title of Miss Pennsylvania’s Outstanding Teen, what is one goal which you have for them, which you hope they will accomplish during their reign?
I hope they can make a difference in the Miss America Organization by including more leadership into the system. I think it’s time titleholders step out of the convertible and lead the parade.

Bravura is an artistic word for exceptional. Tell our readers what make you “bravura.”
I feel i am “bravura”, I work hard every day to make a difference and to embody everything the Miss America Organization stands for. From volunteering and promoting dogs at the SPCA to giving speeches about autism or even the importance of our veterans I do everything I can to show my community what this organization stands for and how it helps young women like myself make a difference.
