Naina Speaks – Christian Louboutin Lip Color Review & Swatches
I’ll be reviewing two of my favorite lip colors from the very popular Velvet Matte range by Christian Louboutin. I still remember the time when these lip colors were launched, and the moment I saw them I was simply awestruck by their design and attractive packaging. So when I was in London, there was no way I could not purchase these beauties. And after using them for a while, I’ve now decided to share my feedback with you all. 😀
Louboutin lip shades come in three distinct formulas- Velvet Matte, Silky Satin and Sheer Voile, with the most ornate packaging I’ve ever seen for a lipstick. The three different textures come in a multitude of colours. Since I love matte lipsticks, I chose their Classic red shade Rouge Louboutin, and Rococotte. Both the lipsticks, like the rest, resemble elixir vials and come with a silk ribbon so you can transform them into necklaces.
What they Claim:
- Non-drying comfort on the lips.
- Highly pigmented.
- Paraben-free, mineral oil-free, DEA free and Phthalate free.
- Give a suede finish.
- Formulated with natural oils and seed butters to enhance moisture for upto 4 hours.
Price: $90
Availability: Christian Louboutin
What I Think
I love the luxe packaging! It was definitely the main reason why I wanted these lipsticks. They come embedded in beautiful black jewellery boxes with velvet red interior. The Rouge Louboutin lipstick case is black in color with silver cap. While the Rococotte and all other lip colors have gold cases with gold caps.
Rouge Louboutin: Its a beautiful red shade, the same red you see on the sole of Christian Louboutin shoes. I feel this color looks very flattering on all skin tones.
Rococotte: This is a really pretty Terracotta nude color which I think, would suit most skin tones.

Pros
- Both the lip shades glide smoothly over the lips.
- Stay for up-to 8 hours and just don’t budge even after eating and drinking.
- Even when they fade, they leave a gorgeous stain behind.
- They give a soft velvety finish.
- Mild scent.
- Highly pigmented as they claim.
- They make my lips appear fuller and more beautiful.
- Do not dry out my lips.

Wearing Rococotte
Cons
Too Expensive for a lip product.
Rating: 4/5
Would I Repurchase?
Yes, of course. I love the formula.
Overall
I would say I love Louboutin lip shades and would not mind splurging on the other two finishes as well. If you’re a lipstick hoarder like me and don’t mind forking out $90 on a luxurious lip color, then you must check these out. But if you think its too pricey for a lipstick, then you can probably invest in just one shade, preferably Rouge Louboutin and have it as a collectible. 🙂
Much Love ❤
