Looking Fashionable After Labor Day
The unwritten law is that you're not supposed to wear white after Labor Day. As much as I love fashion, white is one of those colors that you should always wear in your wardrobe anytime of the year.
It’s time to throw your rule book out the window because fashion is all about making yourself stand out and look good; there’s no rule on that — trust me! I have three simple words for you that one should always abide by: Fashion Is Freedom.
Suze Yalof Schwartz, executive fashion editor at large at Glamour Magazine states, “Don’t put away white denim…Nothing is more chic than white jeans in the wintertime with a chunky cozy sweater or a blazer and leather boots.”
And I couldn’t agree more. So for those who are daring to go white post-Labor Day, here are some awesome choices for my readers!
For my guy readers, the first thing I have is the Cavi Jacket, which can be found at Macy’s. The jacket retails for $98 but right now it’s on sale for $50.99. For the time when Labor Day kicks in, the weather is nice and it’s still not too breezy, this is the perfect jacket to throw over a polo or T-shirt when you’re headed out. It gives any guy a great ‘laid back,’ yet stylish look!
The next thing for all my fashionable guys is this Sean John cardigan. Throw in a colorful polo or T-shirt inside and it’ll make the sweater pop even more. The cardigan retails for $88 on Macy’s.
Finally I have a pair of awesome Steve Madden Moccasins which would look great with jeans or even a suit. The shoes currently retail for $50.99 at Macy’s and are normally $80.
And now for my female readers. We all have a closet filled with clothes and that oh-so favorite “little black dress.” But think of this…you’re at a wedding reception, or a New Years bash, or just a party thrown by one of your friends…regardless, you want to look gorgeous and stand out. So forget the rules of Labor Day and break out that little white dress that you’ve been dying to rock because tonight’s the night! I’ve picked this white Jaiden Jeweled dress which can be found at Bebe. The dress normally retails for $139, but right now it’s available for $99.99! With a few simple blinged out accessories, you’ll be the apple of everyone’s eyes that night!
Next I’ve selected the white Rochas Borsa R18 Sporco Bag which can be found at SAKS 5h Avenue. The bag retails for a whopping $1695, but I always love to consider a bag as an investment, especially if you take such good care of it as I do! The bag is crafted from lustrous calfskin with a chic snake-print handle..and who doesn’t love anything that’s made in Italy!
Finally on my list is a pair of white J Brand low-rise capri twill pants. Whether it’s spring, summer, fall or winter, capris can be worn at anytime, especially in fall & winter with knee-high boots! These capris normally retail for $176 at Bloomingdales, but right now you can snag them for $105.60!
So there you have it my readers…who says you can’t wear white after Labor Day! As I’ve said before, I love fashion, but when it comes to looking good, there are no rules to fashion! Dress your way and feel good as you look good too!
