My title is Miss Plymouth County and my platform is title IMperfection which pushes the importance of body positivity in today’s youth.

How long have you competed in pageants? How do you think you’ve personally grown with all your prior pageant experience?
This is my first season in pageants and I have grown SO much! I am way more confident than I was a year ago and I couldn’t be happier.

In regards to your platform, why did you choose to go with this particular one?
I chose my platform because I’ve always struggled with loving my own body. I wanted to learn something myself and continue to teach others at the same time!

How has working alongside your platform made you into a stronger person?
I have learned that I am beautiful no matter what size I am or what I look like in my dresses and I’m allowed to have days where I don’t feel that great about myself as long as I pick myself back up in the near future.

What have you learned from your current Miss Massachusetts, which you hope to carry with you if you were to win the title of Miss Massachusetts?
Alissa has taught me to always speak your mind to those around you even if you know they won’t agree. She has also taught me to not take life so seriously and enjoy the ride!

As a title-holder, what is one of the single-most important messages, which you think you convey to your followers?
Confidence, confidence, confidence!

If you were to win the title of Miss Massachusetts, what is the one thing which you would strive the hardest to accomplish?
I want to erase the stigma that men don’t have body positivity issues.

Imagine you’re competing for Miss America, and your roommate has never visited Massachusetts; how would you describe your state to your roommate?
I would tell her all about our amazing sports teams and dedicated sports fans!

If you could place three items in a time capsule, which represent the women of today, what would they be and why?
I would put in a Sports Illustrated magazine with Ashley Graham on the cover because we’ve come a long way with celebrating women’s body types. I’d also put in an MAO crown because Miss America is the largest scholarship provider for women in America and lastly, a picture of Laverne Cox who is changing so much for transgender women of today.

Because of media, many people tend to look at pageant with a very scrutinizing option; For you. personally, what have been some of the biggest benefits of being a part of the Miss America Organization. And how would you share the positive nature of pageants with others who may not be familiar?
The sisterhood is real! We are all such good friends and really support each other at our fundraisers and picking wardrobe that it’s hard to not make lifelong friends! I’ve met so many inspiring women through this organization! To make sure others know how awesome MAO really is, I post about it all the time! I tell everyone how much I love my sisters and how helpful they are.

“Bravura” is an artistic word for exceptional; in your opinion, what makes you “bravura”?
I am not afraid to tell my story and I’m certain not afraid to have an opinion.

What advice do you have for those who want to take part in pageants?
Don’t be afraid to ask for help! Other young women are more than willing to be helpful when you’re lost!

What words of thanks do you have for those who have helped to bring you to where you are today in the Miss Massachusetts Class of 2017?
I hope you’re not sick of sitting through pageants at this point! You’ve all been so supportive and I don’t think I’d be headed to Miss Mass if it weren’t for you all.
