What have you learned from your current Miss Delaware, Joanna Wicks, which you hope to carry with you, regardless of whomever wins the title of Miss Delaware?
Not only has Joanna been an amazing Miss Delaware, but she has also been an amazing friend. Joanna taught me that you can do anything that you put your mind to.  Joanna is the only Miss Delaware to work full time while holding the title. She is living in her dreams of being Miss Delaware and being a full-time educator. Joanna is a true testament of girl power.

What is one goal you hope that the new Miss Delaware will accomplish during her reign?
Whoever the new Miss Delaware will be, I hope that she accomplishes touching other’s hearts through her social impact initiative as well as throughout her year of service. It is important that she makes a difference in whatever cause that is important to her during her reign.

If you could go back in the past, and give yourself one piece of advice when you first stepped into pageantry, what would it be?
I would remind myself that I am only competing against one person…ME. In pageantry it can be easy to lose sight of who you are. That is why it is important to not pay attention to what others are doing and to be your true authentic self, both on and off stage.

Share with us your platform and why it’s important to you.
My platform, Dancing for Better Health, focuses on motivating and encouraging youth, to get moving through the rhythm of dance. I chose this platform because I wanted to teach the youth that expressing themselves through dance is also a fun form of exercise and combining that with healthy eating will lead to better health. It is my goal to be a role model and inspire youth. I hope to increase the awareness of addressing childhood obesity and lack of physical activities.

“Bravura” is an artistic word for exceptional; what makes you a ‘bravura’ candidate for Miss Delaware?
At the young age of 14, I became a young entrepreneur and opened my in-home dance studio called “KP Dance Expressions”. I use my dance studio along with my platform to teach my students that by having both physical and mental health along with great self-esteem, they can live and have a healthy life. By putting a spin on dance as one of the key elements to achieving a healthy mind and body, I know this makes me a bravura candidate for Miss Delaware.
