The Road to Miss New Jersey’s Outstanding Teen – Miss Ramapo Valley’s Outstanding Teen, Haley Beauparlant
We are excited to share with our readers, a new series with you called, "The Road to Miss New Jersey's Outstanding Teen." The next young contestant to be featured in our series is, Ramapo Valley’s Outstanding Teen, Haley Beauparlant!
Tell us your name, title, and the platform you’re representing.
Hello I’m Haley Beauparlant I am Miss Ramapo Valley’s Outstanding Teen 2017 and my platform is Youth Volunteerism…YOUth, VOLUNTEERing, LEADing, and EMPOWERing.
Why did you choose this platform as you competed in the Outstanding Teen program?
I have been involved in my community for as long as I can remember and love volunteering. I have been a volunteer at my mom’s side during different types of classes and events, for many causes and activities, since I was very young. I have felt and seen the many benefits of volunteering and after seeing how many of our youth today lack awareness of volunteer opportunities available I then decided to target my generation within my platform.
Is this your first pageant, or have you competed in pageants before?
This will be my first State pageant but my fourth pageant overall that I have competed in.
What have you learned thus far from our current Miss NJ, Brenna Weick, that can help you be a better Outstanding Teen?
Confidence is the Key to bettering yourself daily. Each time I have seen her speak, perform, pictures of her, or had the opportunity to meet her she portrays Confidence and encourages us as Teens to maintain Confidence no matter what.
If you were to win the title of Miss New Jersey’s Outstanding Teen, what is the biggest challenge you think you will face? How do you hope to overcome it?
Balancing my commitment to myself and my fellow peers with my Miss NJOTeen responsibilities and exciting commitments along with my commitment to myself to maintain the highest standards for myself with my academics and school life. I will overcome this by staying ahead of my responsibilities, being very organized, and being sure I get enough sleep and keep healthy.
If you were to win the title of Miss NJOTeen, how do you hope to better educate your generation about your platform and the importance it holds?
I will continue to utilize and grow my Social Media sites to further promote and educate teens on the importance of volunteering along with providing awareness of volunteer opportunities available to them. I will continue to grow my platform, by building an even stronger network, through volunteer events and public speaking opportunities that I coordinate.
What advice do you have for those who want to compete for a local title?
Be consistent with practicing for each area of competition but overall “Just Be True To Yourself”!
Because of the way media and certain television networks have portrayed the lifestyle of a pageantry, there is a preconceived notion of what a pageant girl is. How do you think that being a part of the Miss America Organization, you’re able to break that barrier?
I am breaking the barrier by educating others that pageants are about you being you and that is truly what wins! Pageants are not about beauty but about each girl’s intellect and drive for what they enjoy and want to do to change themselves and their communities for the better! It’s about scholarships, girls empowering girls, promoting leadership, and leading by being a positive role model.
Bravura is an artistic word for exceptional. Tell our readers what makes you “bravura.”
I am “bravura” because I am true to myself in everything I do!
Where can fans follow you on social media?
Fans can follow me on social media on Facebook @MissRamapoValleyOutstandingTeen, Facebook @ramapovalleyoteen2017, and on Instagram @youvolunteer.
Do you have any final words for the readers of Bravura Magazine?
Thank you to the Miss America Organization and Bravura Magazine for this opportunity for readers to get to know me and to be able to bring more exposure to my platform.
