Someone who inspires me: Sally Ride is one of my biggest inspirations in life. Being the first female astronaut in outer space, she has shown me that my involvement in the automotive field is not only necessary to the development of STEM careers, but inspirational to all of the little bodies with big dreams who are watching.
My Defining Moment: The moment I stepped off the plane in America from Beijing and saw a blue sky for the first time in my life.
Arianna Quan currently resides in Detroit and is an Automotive Design senior at the College for Creative Studies. Her platform is ‘Being American: Immigration & Citizenship Education’. As the first Asian-American Miss Michigan and naturalized citizen, she hopes to serve as a liaison between foreign and U.S. born citizens; encouraging both to celebrate their culture and to engage in our democratic country. Arianna is also passionate about MAO’s mission to promote women in STEM. She plans to use her education as a way to reach out and help galvanize the future generation of female car designers. Her hobbies include archery and baking experimental cupcakes.
