Education: Bachelor of Arts Degree in University and Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Counseling Psychology from Kentucky Christian University
Scholastic Ambition: To pursue my Masters of Science in Counseling and become an eating disorders Counselor/Nutritionist
Scholastic Honors: Union College Academic, Excellence in Music, and Service Award Scholarships; Graduated High School with a 4.2 GPA and with Honors (Suma Cum Laude); Academic All-State First Team Award
My personal connection to my platform: I was motivated to speak out about eating disorders through my own two-year battle with bulimia nervosa. My struggle taught me that eating disorders are more than just physical – they begin as a battle of the mind.
My secret wish or dream: I would love to be a contestant on Dancing with the Stars!
Being the second of six children, Laura Jones has grown up valuing family. Laura began private violin lessons at age 8, and started competing in the Miss America Organization at age 13. She represented Kentucky as Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding Teen in 2010. Laura has received a Bachelor of Arts in University and Biblical Studies with a minor in Counseling Psychology from Kentucky Christian University. She plans on pursuing her Masters in Counseling to later become an eating disorders counselor. She is motivated by her own past struggle with bulimia which has fueled her platform, W.A.I.T. (What Am I Thinking?).
