Grab A Pole & Dance!
We cringe at the sight of pole dancing in movies and how sleezy strippers look when they twirl & wrap their legs around the metal pole. However, many may not know that pole dancing is a form of performing art, a combination of dance and gymnastics. This "art form" entails dancing and performing acrobatic tricks with a vertical pole; over the course of years, it has become a highly popular form of fitness and dance around the world.
Slightly before the mid-2ooo’s, the idea of pole dance mainly took place in strip clubs – therefore the crindge. Nonetheless, promoters of “pole dance fitness competitions” have been trying their level best to change the perspective people have gained on the idea of pole dancing and persuade them that it is, indeed, a legitimate form of dance and acrobatics.
Here’s a piece of inside information: Did you know that pole dancing has been greatly influenced by “Chinese pole”? It’s a form of acrobatics that is performed in cabaret/circus and stage performances in a non-erotic environment.
So be honest – Have you ever thought about pole dancing as a form of exercise? Well if you haven’t you should check it out. Exercising the traditional way on the treadmill or going out for a jog can be simply boring. Workout routines such as Zumba and pole dancing can make exercising a lot more fun, and are becoming more popular. Leave the stripper idea behind and head to your local gym because you may miss a spot when signing up or the oh-so popular pole dancing class!
I check out the local gyms where I live and there are a few dance studios in Rochester, New York that are offering pole dancing classes include Xpolse Pole Dancing Fitness and Goddess Hour Dance and Fitness Studio.
Xpolse Pole Dancing Fitness Studio offers four different pole dancing classes. The beginning level class is called Black Light Exotic and Pole Dance, which allows students to learn stationary, transitional movies and pole spins on a static pole in addition to sexy floor work. The next level up is called Pole Tricks. This challenges yourself to get in the best shape by learning new pole tricks. The primary focus of this course will be on executing on both the static and spinning pole. The third class is called Combo Tricks and Spinning Pole. This class teaches specific pole spinning tricks. Not only that, but you will also learn the ability to control your speed and movement as the pole rotates on its own. The last class is called Advanced Pole which allows you to highlight your own talent and add a level of difficulty.
Pole dancing is definitely a new form of exercise that is becoming more and more popular. You won’t know what you’re missing out on until you try it! J So check it out and switch up your boring daily workout routine by adding in some pole dancing exercises!
