Hosting for the Holidays!
With Christmas right around the corner, I only see it fit that I share with you my thoughts and ideas on how to spread the cheer with others! With Christmas just a few weeks away, there will be gatherings and get-togethers and much Merry-ness going around! You never want to show up empty handed at such a party, so here are my thoughts on some clever and caring hostess gifts!
Target is one of my most favorite places to shop. The first item I’ve picked – and you can’t go wrong with this one – is a set of Eastern-style, Feng Shui candles, which retail for $18.99 online. Alas…it’s not available in stores. The set comes with a black, ceramic plate, 24-28 river rocks and 1 of each candle: earth and metal (each 2×2″), water and wood (each 4×2″), and fire (6×2″). These fresh scented candles are a perfect addition to anyone’s home leaving the entire room smelling great!
The next item is also from Target and it’s an Oster Wine Opener & Chiller, which retails for $26.99. Everyone loves to have a nice bottle of wine, but having an even more chic opener and chiller just adds more flair to your event. The material is mainly plastic, which makes it quite easy when it comes to cleaning. And there’s a 1-year warranty on the product!
If there’s a little one at whoever’s house you’re going to, then I would suggest taking something for he/she, as it’s always a kind gesture to gift something to all your hosts. For the little lady of the house, my idea is cute, simple and quite cost effective also. Grab a stocking and head to the mall where there’s a Bath & Body Works. I’d suggest picking up the scent “Vanilla Bean Noel,” as it’s also a personal favorite – plus it as a very soft and fresh scent, nothing too strong or too-vanilla. They have a small size lotion, body wash, and spray, plus you can also get the antibacterial hand soap! All these products range from $1.50-$5.00 and it’s something cute that any little (or younger) girl would enjoy.
For the young boy of the household, and doesn’t matter what his age may be, everyone loves video games and has a game system. And regardless of what anyone else says, the Wii system is the hottest product around. The one game I, personally, am hooked on right now is Mario Super Sluggers. Plus it’s a great family game also – anyone of any age would love to sit back and hit a few homeruns against their friends & family!
So enjoy the holidays with your friends and family members and let the Christmas spirit spread! Enjoy and happy hosting!
