Happy Halloween Versace
When I was first informed of the Versace-H&M collaboration, I was nothing short of ecstatic.
It ran through my head: You mean, the high fashion designs currently gracing the runways of New York, Paris, and Milan will be available for everyone’s browsing pleasure at my local mall? Yes please!
As I opened the already bookmarked H&M website, my reaction was nothing short of spitting out my morning coffee all over my computer screen.
Yes, I understand: Versace will always be Versace. This is suggesting that I honestly shouldn’t have expected any type of normalcy from what they were going to produce. I would just like to say, however, that I did expect something, I don’t know, wearable?
The first piece that caught by attention was the epileptic fit-inducing pants in the Men’s Apparel section. As I usually don’t browse the men’s section, I suppose I’m not the most reliable source for what is currently ‘in’ with men’s fashion. But as a woman, I know that if a man wearing those pants approached me for conversation, my first question would be “What party theme did I miss?”
Probably not the reaction most people would hope their outfit evokes from another person…
You can catch a glimpse of Versace’s H&M line in your local store around mid-November; unfortunately, not soon enough for Halloween. I’d be interested to see what the readers have to say about the line after it’s been released, but until then, stay lovely readers.
