The Great Gatsby Inspired Fashion

The Great Gatsby is one one of my most favorite books, written by my favorite author – F. Scott Fitzgerald. All throughout college I read this novel, (as I was an English major), and the depth & perspectives which I read it from allowed me to have an even deeper appreciation of the work of Fitzgerald.

The thing which I admired the most about this novel was the time in which it was written; the roaring 20’s…an era where flappers roamed the downtown streets, Jazz music rang in the ears of all, and high-end parties were always thrown in the Hamptons. The social and cultural features known as the Roaring Twenties began in the big cities such as Chicago, New Orleans, Los Angeles, New York City & Philadelphia, as well as, Paris and London.

But the most impeccable feature of this amazing era in American & worldwide history, was the fashion of the 20’s, one which is still evident in today’s time, though different elements.

The styles of the 20’s which stood out the most were those of lace, pearls, polka dots, fur, pastel shirts. I looked through some of my favorite stores to shop & have shared with you some 1920’s looks found within our 2013’s stores! A lot of the price-points are well managed, but of course, I had to share some high-end finds as well!
